How does one way window film work?
One way window film is a complex thing. It does exist and can be a great way to get privacy in some situations. One way window film or mirrored window film is a dark, highly reflective window film installed on glass in homes and offices. This film offers great privacy by day but can run into issues at night. The way this film works is that it bounces the light off of the film and back onto the user. In order for this film to be truly effective the light behind the glass must not be greater than the light on the other side. Thats why on cop shows you see the interrogation room is very bright and well lit while the room the detectives is tin is dark and poorly lit. This film is most effective during the daylight hours.

Yes, window film will make your windows more energy efficient. Window film does this by reflecting and absorbing the suns energy. Making it more difficult for heat to penetrate deep into the room.

How much does window tint for my house cost?
The way we price window film is by the Square foot. Our films average $8.50-$10.50+ per square foot installed. So an easy way to get a ball park price is to measure your windows by inches. Add an extra 2 inches to each side. Take the measurements and multiply them together. Then divide that number by 144. This will give you a rough square footage estimate that you can then use to find a ballpark cost for your project. (Length” x Height” / 144 = )

Does window film have to be dark to be effective?
No, window film does not have to be dark to be effective. In fact our goal is to preserve your natural light and still get tremendous amounts of heat rejection. We have tint shades that go as light as 70% which is barely visible at all.

How can I get privacy from my windows at nighttime?
This can be tough to do. The best way to control privacy at night is by controlling the light on both sides of the glass. The side you want more privacy on needs to be well lit and bright. The side that you’re on needs to be lower lit and less bright. If you want complete privacy at night and you cant really control the light I would recommend a frosted film.
